1. It's gentle on skin, including sensitive skin
The paste is three ingredients: sugar, lemon and water, with no resins. It's applied at body temperature, not heated like wax. Sugaring is gentle for most skin types, and that matters most on delicate areas like the bikini line and underarms. If you have a skin condition, or you're on Accutane or using retinol, tell me before your appointment so we can adjust as needed.
2. Longer-lasting smoothness, and no razor burn
I remove the hair in the direction it naturally grows, which means fewer ingrown hairs and less breakage. Because it comes out from the root, most people stay smooth for 3 to 4 weeks. Whether you're planning a day at Cultus Lake or you just want a break from shaving, that's a lot of mornings you get back.
3. A private, relaxing studio

The first visit is the one you'll notice most. With consistent appointments, hair grows back finer and slower, so each session tends to be quicker. A paste you can read the label on
Sugar, lemon and water. Any paste left on your skin rinses off with warm water.
Appointments are quick
Underarms are booked for 15 minutes. A first Brazilian is booked for 40, and the sugaring itself usually takes me about 15.
It works better when you keep it regular
Most people rebook every 3 to 4 weeks. Staying on a regular rhythm is what makes hair grow back finer and slower.
Easy to get to
The studio is in Sardis, Chilliwack. I work by appointment only, and you'll get the address and directions with your booking confirmation.
Getting ready for your first appointment
- Let the hair grow to the length of a grain of rice, about 1/8 inch. If you've been shaving, wait 10 to 14 days.
- Exfoliate lightly 24 to 48 hours before you come.
- Come with clean, dry skin: no lotions, oils or deodorant on the area.
- Go easy on caffeine, alcohol and acidic foods beforehand. Oddly, they can make your skin more sensitive.
- Wear loose-fitting clothes.
- On Accutane or using retinol? Tell me ahead of time.
For the first 24 hours afterwards: no workouts, no pools or hot tubs, and loose clothing. The rest is on my aftercare page.
